Single Leaves

If you see single leaves on your tree, you need to look again and find out if the tree has angled needles or flat needles. Once you decide, click on the picture, or the text link below the picture, to find out what you need to know next. Here's a hint about how to tell angled from flat needles. An angled needle grows off the branch at an angle but is not flat. Flat needles also grow from the branch at an angle but the flat needles have a flattened edge. Roll a needle between your fingers and you should be able to tell if it is flat or angled.
